Market Info

The Eighth Season of the Canton Farmers' Market is Underway!

The Canton Farmers' Market is back!  We had a great kick-off celebration on Saturday June 18th with tons of vendors and fresh produce, great music, health checks from Aultman Health Foundation, fun face painting, massages, and cooking demonstrations with Jennifer Wolfe Webb, and organic gardening tips from Cindy Petitti!  If you could not be with us  last week, we'd love to see you this week!  Remember, the Canton Farmers' Market runs every Saturday morning from 8:00AM until 11:30AM.   Hope to see you there!

Interested in Growing Your Own Garden?

If you've ever wanted to try your hand at growing your own garden or you don't have the yard space to make your gardening dream come true, check out the Downtown Canton Summit Neighborhood Community Garden.  The Community Garden is located on the corner of 5th St NW & High St NW, and there are several plots available for use.  This year raised beds will be added to the Garden to make your gardening easier.  Tools, water, and good old advice are all free!  You just need to bring your ideas, seeds, and a little hard work!  Plots are $10 per plot for the whole season.  If you're interested, please contact Marcie Otto at bigcommunitygarden@gmail.com for an application.

Not sure what vegetables to grow in your garden?  Want to make your garden bigger and better?  Tired of critters attacking your vegetable crops?  Then Vegetable Gardening 101 is for you!  The Ohio State University Extension in partnership with Master Gardener, Stark Parks, and Stark County District Library is offering several Gardening Series sessions that will teach you the basics of growing your own vegetable garden.  The class is 2 hours and registration is free!  For more information, click here.
